Choosing a wedding venue is probably the most important decision you will make when planning your wedding. Here are a few reasons:

All of the following venues have something special up their sleeve to make your wedding day swing! They all provide fantastic opportunities for great wedding photographs and are all unique in their own way. The Venue royal Liver Building

 

 

Wow! Probably the most famous building in Liverpool as a wedding venue? What’s not to like? The Liver building sits in a prime location on Liverpool’s world famous waterfront, and there are Panoramic views of the Mersey from its spacious airy rooms. The contemporary white interior has a very modern feel and great light for your wedding photographs! If you want to stroll around the waterfront during the golden hour you can get some amazing images of the two of you. You can also upgrade your package for a unique photo opportunity and gain access to the rooftop right under the iconic Liver Birds. The views over the Mersey as the sun sets are stunning from this height.

The Venue  can cater for 140 guests for your ceremony and up to 200 guests in the evening. It also has the Boardroom for smaller intimate weddings. A luxurious oak panelled boardroom which hosted the Royal Liver friendly society for over 100 years!

Verdict

A modern contemporary space which has excellent light and the wow factor of great views over the Mersey. That it is part of the Liver building, is pure Top Liverpool wedding venue heaven. Oh Me Oh My

 

 

Originally purpose built for the Bank of West Africa in 1920, Oh Me Oh My has bags of character. It has the original classical ceiling mouldings and 20ft high columns which line the centre of the room. If you want something quirky and different, Oh Me Oh My has it in spades. You also have the goodness Gracious roof terrace for the perfect summer party and great views of the Three Graces just across the road!

Oh Me Oh My can cater for small intimate gatherings right up to larger happenings and looks ace dressed up in Fairy lights and candles as the light fades. Being a short walk from the waterfront and the iconic three graces there is no end of great photo opportunities!

Verdict

An unusual spacious venue with great food, Oh Me Oh My  is just a little more quirky than most other wedding venues in Liverpool. The Titanic Hotel

 

 

If you want a piece of Liverpool’s historic Maritime Heritage, the Titanic Liverpool is the wedding venue for you. The Titanic hotel is part of the re-development of the historic Stanley dock complex. The main building was called the North warehouse and was built in 1846 and finished in 1854. The Rum warehouse was added to the main building in the 1950’s.

It once stored exotic Rum and tobacco from all over the world!

The huge Rum warehouse is capable of hosting a massive 500-person guest list down to a more manageable 100 day guests. The recently opened West Bay can accommodate up to 180 wedding guests for both ceremony and evening time. I love the dark almost film noir corridors and the space outside is just epic with what was once the largest brick warehouse in the world facing the hotel from across the dock.

Verdict

 The ability to cater for a massive list of friends and family, with the stunning architecture and epic feel of the outside space makes the Titanic truly one of the top wedding venues in Liverpool. I really love the steel girders and the exposed brick everywhere. Hard Days Night Hotel

 

 

Love the Beatles? Well guess what? You can tie the knot in the first and only Beatles themed wedding venue in the world! Built in the 1880’s the classical styled building is around the corner from Matthew Street and the world famous Cavern. There is even a Lennon suite and McCartney suite for you to retire to after your evening fun has ended. The Lennon suite has a replica of the famous white piano!

With massive newspaper spreads of Beatle headlines lining the walls and framed images of the fab four everywhere you look, any Beatles fan wanting to get married here will be in Beatle heaven!

The hotel has an exclusive wedding suite named ‘The Two Of Us’ which can host up to 75 people for your wedding ceremony. Wedding breakfasts can cater for up to 110 guests with room for 180 evening guests in the Zymant or Hard Days night suites.

Verdict

For Beatles fans, Hard days Night has everything you need to be in Beatle wedding heaven. With the Cavern minutes away it’s the perfect wedding venue for any massive Beatles fan to get married. The Shankly Hotel

 

 

A dream come true for big LFC fans, the Shankly hotel is named after the clubs most loved manager. If you are an LFC fan then it’s a no brainer. Even if you are not a football fan, the Shankly hotel should still be on your list of top wedding venues.

Based in Millennium House on Victoria Street right in the heart of the city, The Shankly Hotel’s wedding space is called Eden. The ultimate rooftop wedding venue, there are 360 degree panoramic views of the whole of Liverpool. You can see the museum and Walker art gallery on one side right over to the iconic Liver building and Three Graces. There is also a massive garden terrace for your drinks reception while the sun shines. With two private bars the party is well served!

The Shankly hotel can do the whole wedding from bridal preparations, wedding ceremony and evening reception. It also has enough rooms for plenty of your guests to stay over too. Having capacity for a minimum 80 wedding guests during the day and 120 evening guests Eden is a top summer wedding venue. The Shankly also boasts a second smaller and more intimate option called Little Eden on the ground floor. It can cater for up to 100 wedding guests.

Verdict

A stunning window lined main room and massive roof terrace make the Shankly Hotel the perfect summer wedding venue. The views of the Liverpool skyline are ace. The Palm House Sefton park

 

 

The winner of Hitched best city wedding venue in 2018 and one of Liverpool’s most unusual and iconic wedding venues, The Palm House is a Victorian grade II listed building which was saved from dereliction by the Sefton Park Preservation Trust in 1996. A circular glasshouse, with tropical plants and trees from all around the world, the Palm House is a wedding venue for people who want something a little different for their wedding.

It is set in the beautiful Sefton Park and can cater for wedding ceremonies as well as the wedding reception. It really is something when you look up at the huge palm trees reaching up to the glass ceiling. The Palm House specialise in more bespoke weddings and are experts at catering to your every wish.

Verdict

If being surrounded by tropical flora and towering palm trees is your thing then look no further. The Palm House really is something  special for your wedding day and being surrounded by the most beautiful park in Liverpool is the icing on the cake for this top Liverpool wedding venue. Hope Street Hotel

 

 

Located on Hope Street in the Liverpool Georgian Quarter and sitting between Liverpool’s two cathedrals, Hope Street Hotel is a very stylish boutique hotel. With exposed brick walls, cast iron pillars, timber beams and solid walled floors it is a gorgeous looking wedding venue. You have lots of choice for your wedding ceremony, The Old Bookroom (50 guests), The residents Lounge (40 guests), The Fifth (70 guests), The London Carriage works (60 guests).

Hope Street Hotel is perfect for the foodie people out there with the award wedding London Carriage Works providing some of the best food in the city. The Fifth on the top floor of the hotel has stunning floor to ceiling windows all around with a roof terrace giving you amazing views across the city and over to the Welsh hills and beyond.

Verdict

If you love your food, Hope Street Hotel has arguably the best food of any wedding venue in the city. It is perfect for couples looking for a wedding venue for their more intimate wedding. Isla Gladstone

 

 

Isla Gladstone is another unique wedding venue in Liverpool. It is a Victorian conservatory, which was built in 1870 and was fully restored in 2009. Nestled in the restored Stanley park (you can see both football grounds from here) it really is something to behold. Surrounded by Stanley Park with its beautiful rose gardens, sparkling lakes and historic sandstone pavilions, it’s hard not to feel you have been transported back to another time. Isla Gladstone is a perfect wedding venue for every season, if you have your wedding in winter, spring, summer or autumn, the light is always ace. Capacity is minimum 60 people up to a quite substantial 200 wedding guests. You can also have your wedding ceremony here up to a max 150 in the conservatory and up to 240 guests in the fabulous bandstand.

Verdict

This wedding venue works for all seasons. With so much light coming in it doesn’t really matter what time of year you have your wedding. With the fabulous Stanley park providing more photo opportunities the Isla Gladstone is a real trip back in time to a glorious age when people thought big glasshouses were the thing. Well I couldn’t agree more, they make fantastic wedding venues too!!

 

30 James Street

 

 

30 James Street was originally built between 1896 and 1898. It is a stunning grade II listed building which was originally home to the White Star line. This building was the hub for the RMS Titanic and where the ship actually received its orders! Beautifully restored to its former glory the hotel is grand in every way. The White Star Grand Hall is truly special with its ornate ceilings and period features. This room was used as the 1^st Class lounge and ticketing office for the White Star Line.

For a real sense of history this venue has it all. If you want your bridal preparations here the rooms are amazing, with no expense spared. The Carpathia restaurant also has a great balcony with amazing views across the city. You can have your ceremony here too in the magnificent White Star Grand Hall. 30 James Street can accommodate 50-130 day guests and up to 200 evening guests.

Verdict

Steeped in history with the amazing White Star Grand Hall as your main room, weddings don’t get much grander than this. This venue is perfect for people who want the whole wedding in one place. The bridal suite is fabulous and the White Star Grand Hall is truly breathtaking. Constellations

 

 

Constellations in their own words are a unique labour of love DIY event space. It is an old warehouse that has been magically transformed into an uber cool event space. Sat in the ultra trendy Baltic triangle it really is an outside of the box-wedding venue. The bar & reception offer a cosy environment as guests enjoy their drinks before heading into the Observatory for the wedding breakfast. The observatory really is a blank canvas that gives couples the freedom to paint their own wedding. Constellations offer in-house décor consultancy so you really can turn the wedding day into something of your own. Wedding guests also have access to the award winning Constellations Garden, which is a really cool space.

Constellations can cater for 150 people during the daytime celebrations and 300 evening guests. With the surrounding area full of colourful industrial backdrops, there are great opportunities for some more adventurous photographs. The Baltic area really is on fire at the moment and if you are a fan of the area this wedding venue could be just the ticket.

Verdict

For fans of the industrial DIY look there is nothing quite like Constellations right now. If graffiti and industrial urban space is your thing then you should seriously consider Constellations for your wedding. For people with oodles of creativity the Observatory is a real blank canvas giving you an opportunity to have an amazing themed wedding. Bluecoat Chambers

 

 

Bluecoat Chambers is the oldest building in the city centre and is over 300 years old. A grade 1 listed building, this quirky wedding venue has an amazing Georgian courtyard which look ace in your photographs. With really good food and plenty of options this could be your dream city centre wedding venue. Bluecoat is a registered charity so the cost of your wedding would go towards the upkeep of the building and their charitable aims. You actually help the community by having your wedding here!

Loads of different options for your wedding. Starting from the Library which holds a very intimate 20 people through to the Performance space which can cater for 90 people for your ceremony, and up to 250 guests for your evening celebrations.

Verdict

The Bluecoat is one of Liverpool’s most beloved institutions and is a beautiful space. I loved the record and book fairs here when I was a kid! If you want something a little different The Bluecoat is a great choice. Knowing your cash has gone into charitable course is a great thing too! Hilton Liverpool

 

 

Built during the City of Culture 2008 Hilton Liverpool is a stunning contemporary wedding venue overlooking the Albert Dock and Liverpool One. It has a very cool mirror glass exterior and the design of the building was inspired by the curve of the River Mersey. The ground floor wooden walkway is also made from wood reclaimed from the river. The glass stairs lead onto the Grace Suite, which has amazing floor to ceiling windows overlooking Chavasse Park. All that adds up to lovely light streaming into the room making the photographs look fabulous. The main function room has a capacity for 400 guests so you can invite every second cousin and distant aunt!

The hotel has capacity to accommodate most of your guests if they stay over and can also cater for the whole wedding from bridal preparations right up to the evening celebrations.

Verdict

A Modern and contemporary interior with those huge windows makes the Hilton a stunning backdrop to your wedding. Everyman & Playhouse Theatres

Who wouldn’t like to be married in a theatre? The Everyman has been with us since the 60’s and has a star studded reputation for groundbreaking theatre. You can actually use the stage for the ceremony! It would be ace to do your own version of Romeo & Juliet (without the bad ending of course) while the wedding breakfast can be hosted in the excellent Bistro, and the evening celebrations can continue in the theatre bar. Seriously you can have an all singing all dancing ceremony on a theatre stage with lighting and sound design! How bonkers is that. For all you wannabe thespians out there its time to shine!

Liverpool Town Hall

Liverpool Town hall is definitely one of the most stunning wedding venues on this list. It will certainly provide an amazing backdrop to your wedding images. Liverpool Town Hall has been host to many a prestigious event, including Royal visits and even a Beatles Homecoming!With two ballrooms and those massive chandeliers it doesn’t get much grander than this for your wedding day.

St. Georges Hall

You can’t beat the sheer scale of this amazing Liverpool icon for your wedding venue. The pillars and the massive doors are great backdrops for photographs. With the Concert room and the great hall this truly is an epic wedding venue. I love the Willis Organ in the great hall! With the fabulous gardens to the rear and The Empire Theatre facing you have no end of choices for some great couple shots. If you want big, this really is the BIGGEST wedding venue in the city!

Camp & Furnace

The original warehouse space in the excellent Baltic Triangle. You can tie the knot in either the Camp or furnace spaces. Camp is decorated in life size woodland wallpaper and hosts Europe’ s most characterful vintage caravans. Furnace is a 9000 sq ft warehouse which was once a working foundry. It still boasts its’ metal furnace and the exposed girders and brickwork create a distinctive backdrop for your special day. Whichever space you choose you are a guaranteed something very different and memorable for your wedding!
