It was such a thrill to be the wedding photographer at Helen & Mike’s Mitton Hall wedding, what an amazing historic wedding venue. I have to pinch myself sometimes knowing I photograph weddings for a living.
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT HISTORIC MITTON HALL
A stunning country house set in the Ribble valley, Mitton Hall is a grade II listed Tudor house originally built in 1487. What an amazing venue to get married and to be a Mitton Hall wedding photographer. The bride was having loads of fun with her maid of honour and Bridesmaids as she had her bridal preparations at her parents home. After the make up and hair was done it was time to put on her wedding dress. The flowers arrived and it was time to drive to the church in the fantastic vintage wedding car! Check out my guide on How To Choose a Wedding Venue.
CHURCH WEDDING CEREMONY
As I arrived at the church, the groom, best man and ushers were doing a fine job of greeting the guests. The church had beautiful stained glass windows which we used later on for a fab portrait of the couple. A lovely airy well lit church to take some great photographs of the happy couple as they said their vows and exchanged rings! There was a big hush in the church as the bride arrived with her bridesmaids and father, after tying the knot they signed the register with the witnesses. A little joke from the registrar as the newlyweds were presented with the marriage certificate had the guests in stitches and it was time to walk back down the aisle to loads of applause! I love love love being a wedding photographer!
Right after the wedding ceremony I really try to photograph as many hugs of congratulations from family and friends that I can. As a documentary wedding photographer I think some of these photographs could prove to be the most valuable in years to come, especially of the grandparents. We shot a few family group shots and after the confetti shot the newlyweds were whisked away in the wedding car to the fabulous Mitton Hall.
PHOTOGRAPHING THE BRILLIANT SINGING WAITERS
With a fabulous selection of canapés and champagne to greet the guest at the drinks reception, the happy couples big day was in full swing! Massive cheers to welcome the bride and groom into the wedding breakfast and a surprise appearance by singing waiters had the guests singing and dancing. After the meal, the speeches were followed by the cake cut, and before we lost the light I took the newlyweds for a couple portrait session for some fab photographs helped massively by such an amazing backdrop as Mitton Hall. A beautiful first dance ended such a beautifull day as the wedding photographer for Helen & Mike’s Mitton Hall wedding.
Below are my favourite photographs from Helen & Mike’s Mitton Hall wedding. If you are getting married at Mitton Hall or any other venue in Lancashire or beyond, I would love to hear from you to discuss your wedding.
