So, you want to get married in Liverpool? Check Out my article Top Wedding Venues in Liverpool. Liverpool not only has some of the most iconic wedding venues in the North, but it also has lots more to offer couples who also want to enjoy a romantic honeymoon in Liverpool. Being a Liverpool wedding photographer, I love shooting weddings in my home town but I also think you can have a fabulous romantic short honeymoon here too. After all the honeymoon is one of the great things about weddings.

I love writing useful articles about weddings so if you are getting married in Liverpool it’s worth considering having your honeymoon here too. Liverpool is well situated on the River Mersey and has lots to offer couples who love city life.

Outdoor Types Have Lots to See in Liverpool

For the outdoor types, we have lots of beautiful coastline including Ainsdale and Formby beach. Formby point has a wonderful Formby Red Squirrel walk where you can get up close and personal with our fabulous native red squirrels! You can also have a romantic walk in some amazing parks in South Liverpool like Sefton Park and Calderstones Park.

Liverpool FC & The Beatles

Liverpool is most famous for its football team Liverpool FC. You could argue we have the best football team and Rock Band of all time! You can book a Tour of Anfield at any time of the year. For any music lovers out there, I don’t need to remind people Liverpool was the home of the most famous band of all time – The Beatles. There are plenty of things to do for Beatle fans like visiting The Beatles Story or visit The Cavern Club, where the Beatles played many times before making it big! You could also go on a Magical MysteryTour and visit the homes of the individual Beatles and other famous landmarks Like Strawberry Fields.

Shop Till You Drop!

Liverpool is also a great place to do some shopping! We have the very excellent Liverpool One, where you can shop to your heart’s content. Liverpool One really has made Liverpool one of the best places to shop in the North West. One very famous landmark that people should not miss is the Liver building on the waterfront. With the iconic Liver birds on the roof, it looks great as you enjoy a ferry ride while enjoying the famous Liverpool skyline.

There are some amazing Liverpool wedding venues that you can also enjoy your honeymoon in. This is not a definitive list! There are so many cool hotels in Liverpool to choose from,  I have listed some of my faves below:

Hard Day’s Night Hotel

For die-hard Beatles fans the Hard Day’s Night has it all. It is an ace Liverpool wedding venue and is literally around the corner from Matthew Street and the Cavern which is situated right in the city centre. With masses of Beatles images everywhere and a replica white grand piano in the John Lennon suite, I think any married couple would have an amazing time.

The Titanic Hotel

The Titanic Liverpool makes up part of the Stanley dock which was a once a busy hive of activity in one of the busiest ports in the world. The titanic hotel was once a Tobacco warehouse and has beautiful internal brickwork from that period. This UNESCO world heritage site is minutes away from the city centre. I love being a Titanic Hotel Wedding Photographer.
