I had never been the wedding photographer at Mere Court hotel before, so when Nicola & Dan asked me to be their photographer for their wedding I was delighted. It’s always exciting to photograph at new wedding venues so I was really looking forward to being a part of the happy couples big day.
Nicola & Dan are such an adorable couple, we really clicked when we first met and I knew I was going to get some great shots, as they have such a great connection.
Wedding Photography at Mere Court Hotel
Mere Court hotel was originally an Edwardian house which was built as a wedding present for William & Amy Dunkerley in 1903. It seems very fitting that it is now a wedding venue! Located near Knutsford, Cheshire it is set in seven acres of beautiful gardens with an ornamental lake. It is a top Cheshire venue to get married and be a Mere Court hotel wedding photographer. I sometimes have to pinch myself to realise I use a camera for a living.
The bride had her bridal preparations with the help of her bridesmaids at the hotel. After they helped her into her wedding dress it was time to grab the flowers and take a very short walk to the ceremony room!
Dan the groom was downstairs greeting the wedding guests with the help of his best man and ushers. He was having a great time waiting for his bride to arrive.
Wedding Ceremony at Mere court
It was soon time for the groom to wait nervously in the ceremony room for his bride’s big entrance. Always lots of happy tears and smiles during the exchange of rings and the wedding vows, and it’s always a real buzz to capture some meaningful photographs of this special part of the wedding day. After some great readings and a song from Nicolas brother, it was time to sign the register. A few giggles later the newlyweds walked back down the aisle as husband and wife to huge cheers!
Relaxed and Natural Photography
A quick confetti throw later, it was time for the drinks reception and the champagne and canapés! Weddings sure are thirsty work and It’s during this time I can capture some funny shots of the guests. My style of photography is relaxed and natural and perfect for capturing real funny moments of the guests having fun. We photographed some quick and fun family groups and we also had a walk around the gardens to capture some relaxed couple portraits.
Nicola had decorated the wedding breakfast room like a summer tea party and everyone had a polka dot party hat, which was a lot of fun. There were more cheers for Dan & Nicola as they were announced into the room. After a great meal it was time for some very emotional speeches from the father of the bride and the groom. The best man really had a hard act to follow as Dan’s speech had the room in tears.
Weddings sure fly past and it wasn’t long before it was time to cut the cake and the first dance. Lots more tears from the mother of the bride! friends and family joined the newly weds on the dance floor to boogie to the brother of the bride’s band. I love photographing the action on the dance floor, especially when the kids show the adults up!!
A huge congratulations to Nicola & Dan I loved being your wedding photographer on your special day, and it was a privilege to capture some great memories for you.
