I was approached by Phil & Kayleigh who are a liverpool based duo performing cover versions of great songs with their own twist.

In their own words:”Classic piano/vocal perfomances from yesteryear to modern day in glorious stripped down acoustica.”That sounds about right!  They do a great version of Teardrop by Massive Attack which I love.

Had a great day around Liverpool Georgian quarter and the Leaf Tea cafe. Both Phil and Kayleigh had great ideas and the whole shoot went brilliantly. It’s great when a client has ideas of their own, so thanks for the input guys!

I was recently commissioned to photograph the private viewing after party of the Alice in Wonderland exhibition at the Tate Liverpool. Hosting the party in 3345 in Parr street was Gary Sollars aka The Dollman (who likes discos) with a few of his friends from wonderland; The White Rabbit, The Queen of Hearts and of course Alice herself! Also helping create the right mood were The Strange Case Collective who created a fantastic set-piece. The highpoint for me was definitely the pass the parcel!

I was commissioned by Kimberley Dunne recently to photograph her Dress Print collection. Kimberley was studying for a fashion and textiles masters in Hope University Liverpool and had been inspired by Pre-Raphaelite Art.  At our initial meeting Kimberley stated her preference for a location shoot, and I suggested we use St James Gardens next to the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. Her work seemed to have two themes of light and dark, and her prints also reminded me of the sandman comics by Neil Gaiman. I suggested we incorporate this theme into the shoot. I am a big fan of Alphonse Mucha the Art nouveau master, I hope you can see his influence in some of the images. Holly who was our model for the day was absolutely amazing and knew exactly what I was looking for with each scene. I think we managed to tell a story with this project, the opposition of light and dark and how it is a part of all of us.

Margaret & Chris had been together for 15 years before Chris pulled his finger out and has done the right thing!  They decided to keep the day simple and tied the knot with a civil ceremony at the Suites Hotel in Knowsley. After a week of miserable weather in Liverpool it was a beautiful sunny day. It was really fun to photograph, especially as it was so obvious how much in Love Margaret & Chris are!

Ann Marie

I was commissioned by a Liverpool family recently who wanted portrait photographs of their children as a gift to their grandparents. Ann-Marie who contacted me, wanted a natural outdoor portrait shoot for the six grandchildren who were aged between 11 and 19. For such a large group I agreed that an outdoor portrait session would be best and suggested a walk around Liverpool city centre starting at St.Georges hall, stopping off by the Krazyhouse on Wood street and ending up in Sefton Park. It was a great afternoon and I must thank the kids who made the job so much easier, everyone was so relaxed and I was able to photograph loads of natural smiles!

Katie & David

I was recently contacted by a follower of my facebook page who had recommended David Walters Photography to a friend in Liverpool.

Katie & her partner David had fallen victim to a rogue wedding photographer who had taken a deposit only to disappear without a trace. Katie had tried on numerous occasions to contact the photographer with no success and was also having no luck securing another wedding photographer as it was so late in the season. Luckily I was free on her wedding day and soon Katie could relax and get on with arranging other aspects of her wedding day. I am glad to say the day went without a hitch and resulted in some fantastic photographs!

Liverpool Flora Pro.activ profile shoot

I was recently commissioned by Flora Pro.activ for a profile shoot of a Liverpool gentleman Andrew Leader for use on their Pro.activ  website. Andrew had signed up to use Flora Pro.activ to help lower his cholesterol, and since using the product along with more exercise  has found his cholesterol levels reducing!  I had only recently been advised by my own doctor in Liverpool that my cholesterol was quite high. I didn’t like to admit it was considerably higher than Andrews, and I think maybe I should have bargained some Pro.activa as part of my fee!

Phil Williams is a marketing communications professional specialising in education and training – largely in education marketing. He approached me with firm ideas about what he wanted from his profile photographs. Nostalgic for our heritage as leaders of industry and commerce, and a firm believer in local business he wanted to express that in the images taken for his profile. The location of the shoot he chose was the Anderton Boat Lift the ‘Cathedral of Canals’ in Northwich Cheshire. http://www.andertonboatlift.co.uk/

An amazing structure being 80 ft high  which linked the Trent & Mersey canal with the River Weaver, the difference in height of the two water levels is a massive 50ft!

It was a pleasure to photograph Phil, he’s a great guy, friendly and unassuming, having the Anderton boat lift as the backdrop was a great idea, it almost felt like a day out!
